Extended Standards

Teachers of students with low incidence and significant cognitive disabilities are often challenged to meet the needs of learners with a wide range of skill sets as well as teach the Extended Standards. Specific planning and supports are required in preparation for teaching students who qualify to take the Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities. This training is a preparation for designing a scope and sequence in moving students towards the general education curriculum.
