Promoting Social and Emotional Learning in School Environments

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is fundamental to student development and overall school success – improving connection to school, positive behavior, and academic achievement. SEL enhances students’ ability to integrate skills, attitudes, and behaviors to deal effectively with daily tasks and challenges. Participants will explore the importance of social and emotional skills, key social-emotional competencies, and resources and practices for developing student’s social and emotional skills in the classroom and building-wide.
