Early Learning Development Standards
Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards outline the concepts and skills children develop from birth through kindergarten, providing a clear and comprehensive framework to guide early childhood programs and educators. Organized into nine domains, the revised standards support developmentally appropriate curriculum, instruction, and assessment that meet the unique needs of each child. Aligned with Ohio’s K–12 Learning Standards, they create a strong connection between early learning experiences and later school success. The accompanying Standards Resource Guides highlight effective, developmentally responsive teaching practices and offer examples of meaningful learning experiences across a variety of early learning settings.
