Kinship Connections: How Schools Can Partner with Kinship Families is a professional development for teachers, counselors, administrators, and other family-facing professionals looking to learn more about supporting grandparent-headed and other kinship families within the education system. It introduces who kinship families are, why kinship families are important, as well as why their needs may look different than other families. The presentation includes a multitude of strategies for schools looking to support this unique family dynamic. The presenter, Dr. Angela Provenzano (OTD), is the founder and leader of Kinship Caregivers Connect and has been working with kinship families for the past 2 years, as well as being a member of a kinship family herself.
