This year’s Trauma Informed Care Summit hosted by Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services will be VIRTUAL and FREE! Check out the agenda for Ohio’s Seventh Annual Summit: “Creating Environments of Resiliency and Hope”

Resilience is that quality that allows some people to be knocked down by life and come back at least as strong as before. Through a partnership with Northeast Ohio Medical University and the Ohio Children’s Alliance, Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services is pleased to announce that registration is now open for this year’s VIRTUAL Trauma Informed Care Summit May 19 and 20, 2020.

The VIRTUAL Summit has been designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools they need to develop resiliency in all children, youth, adults and older adults with whom they interact. Participants may register for the entire two days or any parts they may be interested in. Continuing Education Units will be provided.

DAY ONE (May 19th) Keynote address will be given by Raul Almazar, National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors Center for Innovation in Behavioral Health Policy and Practice. Breakout sessions will feature best or promising practices in assessment, treatment, support and collaboration to respond to trauma across systems and, presentations about programs and projects that demonstrate collaboration across systems and that can be replicated in any area of the state are desired.

DAY TWO (May 20th) Keynote address will be given by D. Laurel Kiser, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Family Informed Trauma Treatment Center. Breakout sessions will feature promising practices in responding to family and intergenerational trauma, incorporating cultural values and characteristics, and are intentional about practices that embrace shared learning and uplift cultural wellness.
