Creating an Inclusive Early Childhood Classroom Series

Description:
This professional development series is designed to support preschool administrators and educators in the development of inclusive preschool classrooms that engage all learners. The series will focus on elements of adult support and intentional adaptations that promote the learning needs of children with disabilities. Strategies to organize learning opportunities that promote children’s engagement in activities and social relationships with adults and peers will be emphasized. Participants will be introduced to the use of the Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP) as a tool to evaluate dimensions of high-quality inclusion, reflect upon practices and plan for continuous improvement. 

This series is designed for building and/or district preschool leadership teams, including administrative representation. All participants will receive a copy of the ICP. Coaching support will be provided to teams during the year. ***Participants are expected to attend all sessions*** Dates are: 11/20/2020, 1/29/2021, 3/5/2021, 4/16/2021
