Parent Mentors are parents of children with special needs who work within school districts to provide families with information and support for effectively working with schools. Many Parent Mentors offer workshops on topics concerning families of children with disabilities, write parent newsletters and serve as a resource that parents can call for help. They also work as liaisons between families and school district personnel so that together they can build positive relationships in order to create the most appropriate educational program for their children.
