Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

Teachers are the key to successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within the school and classroom. Educators want to teach in order to improve children’s lives, both academically and socially. Many teachers have expressed loss of instructional time due to classroom disruptions which is leading to shift in moral and decreasing outcomes and opportunities for success amongst students. PBIS is an approach schools can use to promote school safety and positive behavior in the school settings. With PBIS, Schools teach students about expectations and strategies with the focus on prevention NOT punishment.
